Future Teachers Learn from WA Students

On Monday, May 13th, forty Willamette Academy students participated in a workshop with Willamette University Master of Arts in Teaching Degree (MAT) candidates. During this hour-long workshop, students spent time in Willamette University’s School of Education, conversing with MAT candidates about their personal experiences within the educational system. The students were divided into several small groups led by MAT candidates and had the opportunity to express their personal opinions regarding education, and the current issues affecting students and teachers. Academy students enjoyed having the unique opportunity to share their perspectives with future teachers and hope to have similar programming opportunities in the future.
