2012/2013 Application Deadlines

Early Action I

  • Application and additional materials (items 2-4) due by: November 1
  • Receive an admission decision: December 15
  • Enrollment deposit due: May 1

Early Action II

  • Application and additional materials (items 2-4) due by: December 1
  • Receive an admission decision by: January 15
  • Enrollment deposit due: May 1

Regular Decision

  • Application and additional materials (items 2-4) due by: February 1
  • Receive an admission decision by: March 15
  • Enrollment deposit due: May 1

At Willamette University, Early Action is “non-binding” meaning that you are not committing yourself to attend the university by applying early. Early Action candidates have until May 1 to make a final enrollment decision.

The Admission Committee reserves the right to delay an admission decision for an Early Action applicant if additional materials or grades are deemed necessary.

Steps to complete your application:

    1.Willamette University Application

    There is no fee if you submit your application online or if you file a paper application.  

    2.Official Document Request Form

    Once you have completed your application, you will be asked to download and print your Official Document Request Form (unique to your application) - you may email it to your counselor as well.  Take this form to your counselor, who will use it to submit your:

    • Official High School Transcript and
    • Counselor Recommendation

    3.SAT I or ACT (with Writing) scores

    Send your official scores from either the SAT I or the ACT with Writing.
    If you take the SAT I more than once, the Admission Committee will review your highest scores from each section. Your best composite ACT score from a single sitting will be considered.


    4.Teacher Evaluation (optional)

    A letter of recommendation from one of your teachers (English, math, science or history) is welcome. This letter should be written on your high school's letterhead, and should include your full legal name.
