Community Service

Every college seems to have a motto. At Willamette, we live by ours. Not unto ourselves alone are we born. Being part of the Willamette community doesn't end in the classroom - it involves thinking outside of yourself and acting accordingly. This is what Willamette students are especially good at.

Maybe for you this will mean participating in our alternative spring break program building houses in New Orleans. Maybe you will utilize our Office of Community Service Learning to initiate a service program working with young scientists at a nearby elementary school. Whatever methods you choose, the bottom line is that service is a theme that permeates virtually everything happening at Willamette. It has been that way since they came up with our motto over a century ago.
