Favorite Place on Campus:
Whether you attend Willamette or grew up in Salem, you know about the special “Star Trees.” They foster magic during the holidays when lit up, or at any time of the year year when standing underneath with your special someone—how romantic!
Favorite Thing About Willamette:
The historical relationship Willamette has with the development of the State of Oregon and its Capital, Salem. Did you know that Willamette was established even before Oregon was officially a state?! This relationship continues today with students having the opportunity to intern during annual legislative sessions or other occupations in state government right across the street from campus. This is just one example of the many opportunities that students have for learning—and creating social change—both in and out of the classroom at Willamette.
Favorite Summer Activity
It’s safe to say that I am a fair-weather golfer, but in Oregon this makes sense. I love golfing at any of the courses in Salem and the surrounding area, especially during the summer months when the weather is practically perfect and the rainfall from previous months reveals Oregon’s beautiful green landscapes.
