Tim Larson

Biography

Tim Larson is Chief Operating Officer of Boyd’s Coffee Company in Portland, OR.  Boyd’s is a 112 year old company, and is one of the premier coffee roasters and distributors in the country.

Prior to Boyd’s Larson was a senior executive with Michael Foods, a multi-billion dollar food processing company headquartered in Minnetonka, MN.  Prior to joining Michael Foods Larson served as Vice President of Supply at H & R Block’s world headquarters in Kansas City, and as Dairy Farmers of America’s VP of Procurement in Springfield, MO.

In addition to his executive role at Boyd’s, Larson is an adjunct professor at the University of Minnesota’s Carlson School of Management, teaching in the Operations Management Science division of the school.   He also serves on the Carlson School of Management’s Supply Chain Advisory Board.   Larson is currently working with the University of Wisconsin – Superior to develop the Logistics and Supply Chain Strategy and Supply Chain Management modules of their Transportation and Logistics certification program.  Beginning in 2013, Larson will join the staff at Willamette University’s Atkinson Graduate School of Management on a part time basis. 

Larson is regularly sought to speak and lecture nationally on various subjects including leadership, strategic planning, supply chain strategy, transportation & logistics, purchasing & supply management, and strategy.  His dynamic presentation style coupled with his vast industry experience at the senior management level help ensure interesting, educational, and thought-provoking lectures and presentations.

Several organizations have benefited from Larson’s leadership and involvement, with Tim having served on the Board of Directors of Special Olympics Minnesota, and recently served on the ISM’s Gene Richter Awards Evaluation Committee. 

Tim is a native of Superior, WI, where he graduated Magna Cum Laude with a business degree from the University of Wisconsin Superior.  Tim received a Masters degree from Metropolitan State University in Minneapolis, MN, with an emphasis in Supply Management.

Tim is an advocate of life-long-learning, and has several professional certifications to go along with his undergraduate, graduate, and post-graduate degrees and completions.

Tim and his wife Ericka currently reside in Vancouver, WA, They have two grown children.
