Breaking News! Willamette MBA Ranked by Forbes
The Forbes rankings for the “Best Business Schools” in the U.S were released at 3:30pm on Wednesday, August 5th. The Atkinson School was ranked #71 based on graduates’ reported return-on-investment. The ranking is the highest for any program in Oregon, and the second highest in the Northwest. MBA International Student Orientation - Friday, August 14
MBA International Student Orientation starts at 8:30 a.m. on Friday, August 14, when you will have breakfast with faculty and staff. Your day will include many informative sessions and opportunities to get acquainted with the Atkinson community. In the evening, we will all go to dinner at the Dean's house in Corvallis. Transportation will be provided.
Dress code for all events during Willamette MBA International Student Orientation is casual. Please wear comfortable walking shoes.

Shopping and Errand Trips
We will be sponsoring vans to several locations on Saturday, August 15, which might include Wal-Mart (home furnishings, clothing, food, electronics, etc.), Chase Bank (opening bank account, etc.), Mattress Store, the DMV (state ID card, etc.) and/or Woodburn Outlet Stores (http://www.shop-woodburn.com/). Sign-up sheets will be passed around during MBA Int’l Orientation for students interested in catching a ride.
Willamette University International Student Orientation, Monday, August 17th
Attendance Mandatory
Meet in the Atkinson School First-Floor Lounge at 9:30 AM on Monday, August 17th to walk across campus to Willamette International Student Orientation (we will all walk over together).
Willamette International Student Orientation will be from 10 AM to 4 PM. Lunch will be provided.
The event will be held in the Montag Den -- Building 32 on the campus map at www.willamette.edu/map/campus_map.pdf.
Remember to bring your passport and other immigration documents, as well as your insurance information if you do NOT intend to use the Willamette plan (if you opt for the Willamette plan, you will be enrolled automatically).
Dress code is casual, but keep in mind, the room can sometimes be cold with the air conditioning.

Compass Week is optional for exchange students and required for all other new students. It is a great opportunity and I especially encourage you to participate in Wednesday and Thursday events. The Friday event involves the first year PACE project and you will not be involved in that course.

Your Fall Semester Schedule of Classes is Available
We have completed registration for most of you for fall semester 2009. If you emailed me today with your courses, check in a day or two.
Here are directions to view your schedule online.
1) Go to the Willamette JASON system at https://secure.willamette.edu/services/admin.cgi/
2) Log in with your Willamette logon and password
3) Look for the heading "Registration" and click on "Class Schedule"
Your schedule will give you the day and time for each of your courses. MW means the class meets on Mondays and Wednesdays. TTH means the class meets on Tuesdays and Thursdays. The schedule also gives you the building and room number. MUD and ANX are abbreviations for the Atkinson School.
Connect Your Laptop to Willamette's Network

Onboarding Days: Friday, August 28th and Friday, September 11th
Compass Week will continue into fall semester for two additional days. These days will be Friday, August 28th and Friday, September 11th from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.. These meetings are optional for exchange students.
Campus Parking Permits
Standard parking permits for parking in unreserved Willamette parking lots are not required until September 1. However, parking in a Reserved Parking Lot always requires a reserved parking permit. Information about available parking areas, a map, and a link to order a parking permit are available at http://www.willamette.edu/dept/safety/parking/
Off-Campus Housing - New Contacts
1) Second year MBA student Amit Mehta is looking for a roommate. He has a 2 bedroom, 1.5 bathroom townhouse in an area with many Atkinson students. Email Amit at amehta@willamette.edu for more information.
2) The roommate of one of our students going on exchange for the 2009-10 academic year is looking for a female roommate to share a quiet, spacious two-bedroom duplex. The duplex is located about 10 minutes by car or 20 minutes by bike from the Willamette campus. Rent is $375 per month. This includes water and garbage, washer/dryer usage, wireless internet, easy parking right in front on the street. You would split the electricity bill, which ranges from about $40 in the summer months to $130 in the coldest part of winter. Contact Amy at amyfchurch@gmail.com for more information.
