Off-Campus Housing Opportunities

All new Willamette MBA students will live off-campus. We have developed two two great resources for information about off-campus housing:

1) For our Google map and recommendations from students visit Housing Recommendations and Tips From Students
(http://maps.google.com/maps/ms?hl=en&ie=UTF8&msa=0&msid=104006393528237628807.00000112dfdf750522eec&z=9

2) For additional general information see the Willamette University graduate student brochure titled Moving to Salem - How to Look for Housing.

3) Other resources for information include the Statesman Journal (Classified Ad) and Craigslist

4) Landlords often contact us when they have information to share. Here is some information we recently recieved about housing opportunities:

* Second year Atkinson student, Diana Ursachi, says she is living in a very nice students' house on 14th street. They have extra rooms.  Incoming students who are interested should contact Tommy Balcom (email below) and tell them they heard about the rooms from Diana Ursachi. tommybalcom@gmail.com

* Rosewood Lane - Apartment Homes -- www.rosewoodlane.com
Rosewood Lane is an established apartment complex in West Salem and just added 125 new units of two and three bedroom apartments. The apartments are really nice and the prices are especially good if you have a roommate and can split the costs.  Washer and dry in each room, two bathrooms, business center with wifi and fitness center (and an option for a reduced priced Courthouse membership). Includes water, sewer, garbage. Be sure to tell them you are a Willamette MBA student. The address is 2090 Wallace Road.
Prices: 2 bedrooms/2 bathrooms start at $750; 3 bedrooms//2 bathrooms start at $975

* Furnished Room for Rent - Contact Sue Crothers at suebean2@msn.com if you are interested in this.
Sue rents furnished rooms and and will be looking for someone for the coming academic year. She lives "in a really neat house in the Chemeketa-Court Historic District, a 10-minute walk to campus, 3 minutes to Safeway." Atkinson students have lived there in the past. Be sure to tell her you are an incoming Atkinson student.  The renter "could have a suite of rooms (a bedroom and one other room to use for studying/lounging) and a private bathroom, plus kitchen privileges.  She is asking $500, utilities included.  She would also take two people who wanted to split the cost and each have a bedroom, for $260 a person.

* Willamette MBA Alumni Dan and Angela Mahoney have apartments in a home for rent. Contact Angela at angela@mahoney-associates.com if you are interested.
