Internship Report
Willamette MBA students have the rare opportunity to participate in up to three semesters of approved internship experiences. This means eligible students can participate in a full-time internship in the summer between the first and second year of study, a part-time internship during fall semester of the second year, and a part-time internship during spring semester of the second year of the MBA program.
Internships provide an important opportunity to apply what you have learned in your MBA courses, explore your career interests, build your resume of real-world experience, and develop your professional network! And, because most internships are paid, they provide a source of income that helps students fund their educational and living expenses.
Students seeking an internship for the summer of 2012 did very well, with more than 90% of students accepting a summer internship offer.
Several students who participated in the internship program in the summer of 2012 have already received offers of professional employment from their internship employer and will begin working full-time after completion of their MBA.
Internship projects involved a variety of functions including business development, supply chain management, human resources, project management, investments, ecommerce, accounting, strategic finance, marketing, data analysis, information technology, etc.
Eighty percent of internships were paid internships. Salaries averaged $684.40 per week. The average length of an internship was 16 weeks.
