Location and lifestyle are two important added benefits of the Willamette MBA experience.

Willamette University is located in Salem, Oregon (population 155,000). Willamette's Campus is spacious and beautiful, and located across the street from the Oregon State Capitol. The comfort and convenience of campus life are supported by a variety of Willamette University services and facilities -- libraries, fitness and recreation, entertainment, dining, health center, gardens, the famous Star Trees, Cone Chapel, mail center, travel agency, bookstore, and more. The downtown area of Salem is a short walk from the Atkinson School, offering major department stores linked with sky-bridges, traditional and ethnic restaurants, coffeehouses and movie theaters. Salem is home to many historic sites, 96 city parks, indoor and outdoor concerts featuring international performers, art and wine festivals, bike paths and running trails. Riverfront Park is a busy place most weekends with people walking, roller-blading, picnicking, enjoying Salem's wonderful carousel, viewing the beautiful and intriguing Eco-Earth display, or visiting the noted children's museum, the A.C. Gilbert Discovery Village. Life in Salem is pleasant and only as fast-paced as you want it to be. It offers a lifestyle that is friendly, uncomplicated and inexpensive compared to the larger cities of the West.

Willamette University's Portland Center is located in the Pearl District of Portland, Oregon. Portland is the largest city in Oregon and the second largest city in the Northwest. Portland is also one of the fastest growing cities in U.S. for highly educated people between the ages of 25 and 34.

The Salem and Portland areas are noted for an excellent quality of life, friendly people, mild climate and quick access to the resources of the beautiful Pacific Northwest. Students can ski the Cascade Mountains, enjoy the beaches of the Pacific Ocean, hike the Willamette National Forest, windsurf the Columbia River Gorge, and enjoy the big-city excitement of Portland. Professionally, the Portland-Salem area is home to a multitude of businesses (including Northwest legends Nike, Intel and Tektronix) and hosts a variety of government and not-for-profit organizations. Seventy percent of Willamette MBA alumni choose to live and work in the Pacific Northwest after graduation. The Willamette MBA Screensaver - Living and Learning in Oregon - shows why. Download for your PC or download for your Mac.

The MBA community participates in a variety of professional and social/recreational activities. Barbecues, receptions, the international student dinner, student professional organizations, community service projects, food drives, holiday celebrations, alumni activities, pizza nights, traditional Thursday Night Out parties, and the time-honored Brownwater Regatta (a celebration of spring) balance the academic demands of the program.
