Many sources of financial aid exist to help you invest in your educational and career goals. Merit-based scholarships, the Federal Direct Stafford Loan program, the Federal Direct Graduate PLUS Loan program, private credit-based educational loans, graduate assistantships and campus work programs are available to eligible students. A monthly payment program is also available.
Loans provide students the opportunity to cover their educational, living and personal expenses while completing their MBA. Loans make it possible for students to invest in a future of expanded career opportunities and increased earning power. Loans are also the most common source of financial assistance for MBA students.
Most U.S. citizens and permanent residents will be eligible to fully cover estimated expenses through the Federal Direct Stafford Loan program and the Federal Direct Graduate PLUS Loan program.
International students may be eligible for private credit-based educational loans.
One of the ways the Atkinson School and Willamette University exemplify the University motto of “Not unto ourselves alone are we born” is by providing a merit-based scholarship program. We invest our financial resources – as well as our knowledge, time and energy - to help MBA students meet their educational and professional goals.
Merit-based scholarships range from 10% to 100% of tuition. All applicants admitted to a full-time format of the Willamette MBA program are automatically considered for merit-based scholarships based on GMAT or GRE score, undergraduate grade point average, experience, potential, and ability to contribute to the learning experience of the Atkinson School.
Applicants interested in maximum consideration for scholarship assistance are urged to complete the application process as soon as possible. Approximately 60% of students enrolled in one of the full-time formats of the Willamette MBA receive merit-based scholarship assistance.
Graduate Assistantships and Student Employment
Assistantships provide the opportunity to work a few hours a week for a professor or staff member at an hourly wage of $10 per hour while attending the MBA program.
Monthly Payment Plan
Willamette offers a deferred payment program through Tuition Management Systems (TMS). This interest-free payment plan offers students a program through which educational expenses for the year can be spread out over 8, 10 or 12 months. This monthly payment plan option has a $75 application fee for the year. Under this plan you divide your net expenses for the entire year by 8, 10 or 12 to determine your monthly payment. Please visit the TMS website at http://www.afford.com.
Return on InvestmentThe Willamette MBA is the only program in Oregon listed in Forbes magazine's most recent ranking of the "Top 75 MBA Programs" for ROI (return on investment).
