Annual Brownwater Weekend

Every year in late April, Willamette MBA students, faculty, and staff celebrate the conclusion of the year with a weekend full of activities and events.  The annual Brownwater weekend features a casino night, community picnic, themed events, and a float down Willamette University's Mill Stream.  All Brownwater activities are organized by Willamette MBA students and all alumni are invited to join in the festivities.  Rain or shine, students don their inner-tubes and take a scenic float down the campus's iconic stream.

Willamette MBA Community Activities

Students can participate in a variety of professional and social/recreational activities. Barbecues, receptions, the international student dinner, student professional organizations, community service projects, food drives, holiday celebrations, alumni activities, pizza nights, traditional Thursday Night Out parties, and the time-honored Brownwater Regatta (a celebration of spring) balance the academic demands of the program.

What Our Students Say:

"The students have definitely cultivated a work-hard, play-hard attitude. Our TNO (Thursday Night Out) is a great chance for students to get to know each other outside the classroom. Usually, a professor or two will join us for drinks and conversation. Additionally, there are a number of student-run clubs that arrange various other diversions for their members, from lunch to speakers to site visits."

"The social life is quite enjoyable. Basically, students in the programs know each other well because of intensive group projects. Therefore, students often hang out together. The school arranges a series of activities throughout the year. Every Thursday, students get together to do various kinds of activities ranging from dancing to attending speakers on important topics."
