Graduate Management Admission Test (GMAT®) Reimbursement

The Willamette University Atkinson Graduate School of Management is committed to providing world class management education to U.S. and international students in all stages of their careers.

The strength of our commitment is demonstrated by our investment in students' long-lasting success. The Graduate Management Admission Test (GMAT®) is only one part of the admission packet. However,
studying for and taking the GMAT® helps prepare students for the transition into their MBA experience.

Earning an MBA from an AACSB (Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business) International accredited business school represents the highest standard of achievement. The Willamette MBA wants to ensure that the cost of the GMAT® exam is not a barrier to the opportunity to attend our AACSB-accredited programs.

GMAT® Reimbursement Eligibility

To be eligible for GMAT® fees reimbursement:

  • Pay for and take the GMAT® examination (only one reimbursement of up to the $250 test fee is available per student).
  • Complete the application process.
  • Be accepted into the Fall 2011 Cohort or after.
  • Be a fully admitted graduate student working towards an MBA degree.
  • Enroll and attend classes.
  • Provide an original receipt for the GMAT® exam fees (we will accept receipts dated up to five years prior to the date of your admission).

GMAT® Reimbursement Timing

MBA students must be admitted, enrolled, registered for classes and actively attending classes to receive a GMAT® exam fees reimbursement. The reimbursement amount will be provided directly to the student or deposited into their Student Account before the end of the first semester.

About the GMAT®

"The exam measures verbal, mathematical, and analytical writing skills developed in your education and work. It does NOT measure your knowledge of business, your job skills, specific content in your undergraduate or first university course work, your abilities in any other specific subject area, or subjective qualities, such as motivation, creativity, and interpersonal skills."

  • Test takers answer multiple choice verbal and mathematical questions and complete analytical writing essays.
  • The exam takes about four hours to complete.
  • Scores are valid for five years.
  • The GMAT exam is delivered year-round at test centers around the world.
  • The cost to take the GMAT exam is US $250 globally (potential taxes, cancellation fees and other fees may apply but are not reimbursable).

Complete information on the GMAT, including preparation, testing locations and how to register can be found at MBA.com.
