There will be many activities, events and campus happenings throughout the weekend, and lots to do around Salem too. Final Alumni Weekend schedules will be available in hard copy form on campus when you check in, and you can view a tentative schedule below (updated 3-18-15); details subject to change.

Thursday, Sept. 17 - The Warm-Up

Convocation

11:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m.

Waller Hall Chapel

Join students for the weekly convocation! This week's topic will be based around the 50th anniversary of the sister relationship between WU and Tokyo International University (TIU). Details TBA.

Audit Classes

1:00-5:00 p.m.

Register for classes at the Bearcat Lounge

Observe current professors and students in their natural habitat without the risk of being assigned a 20-page paper or pop quiz. Per faculty request, space is limited.

Weekend Warm-Up Mixer

7:00-10:00 p.m.

Gilgamesh Brewing

Mingle with Bearcats from near and far as WUAA Willamette Valley Chapter kicks off the festivities for the weekend! Details TBA.

Join Travel Program Director Jim Booth '64 for an interactive session on world travel. Details TBA.

Archives Session

10:30-11:30 a.m.

Mark O. Hatfield Library, Hatfield Room

Take a "guided tour" with University Archivist, Mary McRobinson.Using primary source materials selected from Willamette's Archives and Special Collections, Mary will delve into Willamette's international connections. Details TBA.

Half Century Plus Luncheon

A special luncheon for those alumni who graduated more than 50 years ago.

Pacific Rim Lunch

Celebration Tent on The Quad

A Pacific Rim themed lunch and presentation discussing the remarkable 50-year sister university relationship with Tokyo International University.

Join Roger Hull (Professor Emeritus of Art History; Senior Faculty Curator, Hallie Ford Museum of Art). Details TBD.

Session with Professor Scott Pike

1:30-2:30 p.m.

Scott Pike (Assistant Professor of Environmental and Earth Sciences; Chair, Department of Environmental and Earth Sciences) leads the Willamette University Archaeology Field School which offers students the exciting opportunity to experience the heart of neolithic Orkney (a UNESCO World Heritage Site) and work in the field with a team of international archaeologists. This excavation is redefining the understanding of the Neolithic World and was listed by the Archaeological Institute of America as one of the top 15 "most significant discoveries of 2009." Hallie Ford Art Museum Tour with Roger Hull

Visit Willamette's acclaimed museum, which has been described as "a vibrant artistic hub offering access to historical, regional and contemporary art," with Professor of Art, Roger Hull.

Martha Springer Botanical Garden Tour

3:00-4:00 p.m.

Meet at the Bearcat Lounge

Tour WU's "secret" garden on campus with Dean Wentworth, Willamette's Botanical Garden & Greenhouse Curator. Dedicated in 1988 in honor of biology professor Martha Springer, the one acre site is divided into 12 smaller gardens, including a butterfly garden, herb garden, alpine rock garden, theme borders, and ethnobotany gardens.

Sparks Athletics Center Tour

Meet in Sparks Center lobby

Go on a guided tour of WU's newly renovated athletic center.

Global Sustainability Session
