School of Education Exceeds Enrollment Goals, Looks Ahead
The Master of Arts in Teaching (MAT) program welcomed 103 new students this semester, pushing past the year's enrollment goals and into triple digits. The boost comes partially from an increase in applications to the Aspire program, as well as a higher-than-normal yield rate.
Twenty-six members of the incoming class attended Willamette as undergrads, which fits with the typical pattern. Thirty-eight of the overall total are fresh out of their undergraduate programs having graduated in 2009.
The School of Education continues to roll out several important programming additions and developments, which include a Master of Education (M.Ed) program in conjunction with Willamette's Center for Excellence in Teaching.
