Opening Days Dinners Continue Tradition
For almost ten years now, part of the orientation process for first-year students involves the Opening Days Dinner. Always rated as one of the most popular orientation activities, the dinners allow Willamette alumni and staff to connect with the newest members of the Willamette community.
The dinners are typically informal — backyard barbeques are common in late August — but they’re never dull. This year’s Opening Days program continues the tradition, and here in alumni relations we’ve boosted it further because this year’s incoming class is so robust. Forty alumni and staff families have signed on to host dinners this year, which is the most ever.
If you live in Salem, remember the Opening Days dinners as a great way to give back. And if you’re one of our alumni who partook as freshmen, we encourage you to consider returning the favor in the future!
We would also like to give a big thanks to all the alumni and staff who have already volunteered to host students this year!
