Willamette MBA program named top institution in GMAC’s “Team MBA Awards”
The Graduate Management Admission Council (GMAC) awarded Willamette’s MBA program the top honor in its “Team MBA” program during its annual industry conference. The “Institutional Award” recognizes an outstanding graduate degree program committed to student services, social engagement, community involvement and student-led programs.
The Willamette MBA competed against top management programs from across the country, edging out finalists Pennsylvania State University Smeal College of Business and Indiana University Kelly School of Business. Past recipients of the Team MBA Institutional Award include Georgetown University (2007), Vanderbilt University (2008) and Boston University (2009).Read more
Atkinson receives reaccreditation from NASPAA for public administration
The Willamette MBA program is pleased to announce re-accreditation by the National Association of Schools of Public Affairs and Administration (NASPAA). Accreditation from NASPAA ensures the institution meets the highest standards for preparing graduates for careers in the public sector.
The Atkinson School is one of only two schools in the world to hold dual accreditation from the AACSB International (for business administration) and NASPAA (for public administration).Read more
Career management and coaching empowers alumni, current students and local executives
The Executive Development Center’s Career Management and Coaching Certificate included Willamette alumni, current students in the MBA for Professionals program and local executives during its first segment, held this past spring. Each of the eight sessions encourage self-reflection and professional analysis. The result is a deeper understanding of career interests and a personal roadmap to success at work.
Sessions will be held in Portland this fall and in Salem next spring. Those interested in participating are encouraged to contact the Executive Development Center at 503.370.6791.

Executive Development Center presents Reflective Circles in Cultural Biology this September
Join executives from around the area this September to explore relationships and collaboration by looking at our "cultural biology." As managers, active participants in community activities, and members of our own families, we will explore this exciting field with experts from the Matriztica School of Santiago, Chile.
The event is led by Dr. Humberto Maturana and Ximena Davila and will be held at the Willamette University Portland Center. The program begins on Sept. 7 and runs through Sept. 11.
