Season's greetings from the Office of Alumni Relations!
We're cheating a bit by posting the picture to the right because this year's Star Trees Lighting ceremony hasn't happened quite yet. But visit campus Dec. 4 for the 14th annual lighting festivities. It all begins at 4 p.m. with a great holiday dinner in Goudy Commons; the lighting ceremony itself occurs at 6:30 p.m., followed by a free family holiday concert in Smith Auditorium. (Music fans: Also check out this year's Christmas in Hudson.) Read more about the outstanding Star Trees Lighting ceremony on the Willamette website.
Also, there's a grass-roots reunion of sorts brewing for alumni who lived, at one time or another, in WISH House. Did you spend some of your time on that part of campus? Email us and let us know!
And remember to make your plans for the upcoming alumni night with the Portland Trail Blazers -- now's the time to get your tickets for what is going to be an exciting game against the Miami Heat.
Last but not least, envision a shift in scenery now that we're heading into winter: Australia and New Zealand. The travel program has planned an epic 20-day trip down under for next October/November. Check it out in the travel program news.
We hope that everyone has a happy and safe winter and holiday season. Remember that there is no WU News in January, but we'll be back in February.
