Trio of track and field athletes bring home conference honors
Three athletes proved that momentum is contagious this week.
Senior Paul Winger was named the Northwest Conference Men's Track Student-Athlete of the Week for the opening weekend of the 2012 outdoor track and field season. Winger won the 400-meter dash at the Willamette Opener on Saturday, March 3.
Alongside him were senior Jaela Dinsmore and freshman Elisa Ahern, both of whom earned Student-Athlete of the Week honors for their work. Dinsmore took first place in the 100-meter dash and the 200-meter dash to highlight a successful start to the season; Ahern won the triple jump at the Willamette Opener with a mark of 35' 3'.75". She took first place by half a foot.
