What? It's September?!?You’d think after the number of years I’ve been in alumni relations — to say nothing of my other years at Willamette — I would be able to move lithely along the cyclical shifts of the year. Sadly, not the case.
After a luxurious three-day weekend, complete with sunshine, relaxation and a whole lot of nothing being done, I came to work thinking I had it all in order. After the first day full of meetings, however, I realized that it’s September.
For a moment I thought perhaps my Google calendar was suffering from a programming glitch, or things were not syncing properly with my cell phone. After all, it was only a moment ago that students were packing up their belongings and heading home for the summer, wasn’t it?
What does this mean for you, you might ask? Well, it’s actually a good thing. Over the course of the next six weeks or so there are over 15 events planned across the country and on campus for our alumni and parents. Not sure what’s happening in your neck of the woods? Check out willamette.edu/alumni/events for the latest and greatest. That page has all of the up-to-date information on the events, how to register and hopefully everything else you might need.
Hopefully you’ll be as impressed as I was (and less freaked out) by all that’s happening.
In fact, I’d recommend that you go ahead and just bookmark the page. November and December are looking action-packed as well!
