Senior Art Students Featured at Hallie Ford Museum of Art

A new exhibition features the work of seven senior art students at Willamette University and will open on April 12 and continue through May 11 in the Melvin Henderson-Rubio Gallery at Willamette University’s Hallie Ford Museum of Art. The exhibition is presented every spring to honor and acknowledge the work of senior art majors. Characterized by a wide variety of styles and approaches, the exhibition represents the culmination of their four years at Willamette and includes work in a variety of media including an art installation, drawings, sculpture, photography and cut paper.

This year’s senior art students include Graham Bachelder, installation (Costa Mesa, Calif.); Kirsten Brehmer, photography (Evergreen, Colo.); Kiana Isabelle Diaz Figueroa, cut paper (Tegucigalpa, Honduras); Dallas Frederick, sculpture (Bend, Ore.); Keisha Komeiji, drawing (Hilo, Hawaii); MacKenzie Lamson, photography (Portland, Ore.); and Monique Rodriguez, sculpture (Carbondale, Colo).

Student-led Gallery Talks
Students will discuss their work in two Tuesday Gallery Talks that are free and open to the public. The first talk will take place on April 22 at 12:30 with Kirsten Brehmer, Dallas Frederick and Graham Bachelder. The second talk will be held April 29 at 12:30 with MacKenzie Lamson, Monique Rodriguez and Kiana Isabelle Diaz Figueroa.

Financial support for this exhibition has been provided by general operating support grants from the City of Salem’s Transient Occupancy Tax funds and the Oregon Arts Commission.
