Leveraging a $3 million matching grant from an anonymous Willamette family, we’ll raise another $3.5 million to renovate and enhance the Sparks Athletic Center.
When Sparks was built in 1974, it was constructed primarily for varsity athletes, with a small weight room for student use.
In addition to the transformation of women’s athletics over the last 40 years, most Willamette students make fitness an important part their daily lives. During their time at Willamette, nearly all students participate in varsity athletics, club sports, intramural sports or other physical activities.
These programs have grown tremendously, and Sparks can’t keep pace with demand.
With your support, we can begin planned improvements to make this space fit our community’s diverse needs.
