To provide students with an intercollegiate athletics experience that develops life skills by cultivating moral, physical, intellectual and emotional growth. In support of the mission and goals of Willamette University, our program strives to enhance the overall learning environment for scholar-athletes.

Athletics Program Goals

An Unsurpassed Scholar-Athlete Experience
Students must receive balanced, yet rigorous, academic and athletic experiences that promote learning, leadership, scholarship and achievement. The Liberal Arts experience is designed to provide a broad spectrum of learning opportunities. Athletics participation will provide unique life lessons not duplicated in the classroom or laboratory, and add richly to the overall educational experience.
Broad-Based Competitive Excellence
Each of our sport programs must maximize its potential, ensuring scholar-athletes are well-equipped to compete successfully within the Northwest Conference and NCAA Division III. With some regularity, each sport program will contend for Conference championships and exceptional programs and individuals will compete successfully on regional and national levels.
Resourceful and Responsible Leadership
Fairness, safety and ethical conduct are at the heart of amateur athletics and our programs must lead by example in these areas. Coaches and staff must be committed to upholding these standards of excellence and the values associated with Willamette Athletics.
