Bearcat teams, 17 individuals named NWC Academic All-Stars

Not only did Willamette’s cross country teams win both team and both individual titles last Saturday in Tacoma, Wash., but the two squads and 17 individuals were honored as NWC Academic All-Stars.

To be named NWC Academic All-Stars, teams must have a GPA of at least 3.00 and individuals must have a GPA of at least 3.50.

The Bearcat women had a cumulative team GPA of 3.44. Twelve of coach Kelly Sullivan’s women met or exceeded the 3.50 standard. They are: Alicia Andrews, Kaity Ann Atkinson, Jeanne Beko, Jessie Enell, Nicole Lindquist, Beth Phillips, Katie Pierce, Leah Rinfret, Anna Skordahl, Amber Strickler, Evelyn Williams and Bobbie Wright.

Coach Matt McGuirk’s men’s team earned Academic All-Star honors with a 3.31 team GPA. Individuals earning honors were Tyler Baker, Conor Lucas-Roberts, Peter Lucas-Roberts, Scott Overby and Aaron Young. Young also was the meet’s overall winner.
