Dahl scores twice as Bearcats win at Linfield, 2-1
McMINNVILLE, Ore. - Nicole Dahl's two second-half goals carried visiting Willamette past Linfield 2-1 Saturday in Northwest Conference women's soccer action at the Linfield soccer field.
Dahl scored in the 49th and 77th minutes to stake the Bearcats to a 2-0 advantage. Her first tally came unassisted after she drew Wildcats keeper Monica Thompson out from the net, then beat her to the right side. Anne Merten set up the next goal, feeding Dahl with a crossing pass from the right side of the field.
Linfield averted the shutout after Lauren Millhollin scored with 26 seconds to go. Dana Libbey assisted on Millhollin's goal that sailed into the upper-right corner past Bearcats netminder Shelby Springer.
Linfield concluded its season at 13-6-1, 9-4-1 in the NWC. The Wildcats equaled the school record for most wins in a single season, placing third in the NWC for the second straight season.
Willamette improved to 16-2-1, 12-1-1 in conference play.
