Bearcat Men Go to 3-0 in NWC with 3-2 Win at George Fox
NEWBERG: Adam Moshofsky scored off an assist from Ricardo Sanchez late in the second half as the Willamette University men’s soccer team won its third straight Northwest Conference game on the road, 3-2.
After falling behind by two on two early goals by Michael Chapman, the Bearcats (4-2-2, 3-0) rallied late in the half. Ricardo Sanchez started the comeback when he scored at the 40-minute mark off an assist from Ben DeSanno (pictured left).
DeSanno tied the game just two minutes later when he scored off an assist from Matt Lehman.
the physical game which saw five yellow cards stayed knotted until Moshofsky netted his second game-winning goal of the week.
The win capped a perfect start to the Beacats NWC season. Earlier in the week, the Bearcats knocked off No. 6 Linfield, then followed that up with a victory at Pacific on Saturday.
For the game, the Bearcats outshot GFU 19-15. David Eaton got the win in goal with two saves.
The Bearcats return home for a pair of games next week against University of Puget Sound on Saturday and Pacific Lutheran on Sunday. Both games begin at 2:30 pm at Sparks Field.
