THIS WEEK: Willamette (8-14, 2-11 NWC) faces final three games
of season
Feb. 18 at Pacific (6-16, 3-11 NWC), 6 p.m.

LAST WEEK: Willamette splits NWC contests with eastern
Washington schools
Feb. 14 at Willamette 61, Whitman 58
Center Kasey Sorenson (Sr., Scappoose HS) scored a season-high 18
points to lead Willamette to a Northwest Conference win over
Whitman. Sorenson scored all but two of her points in the second
half as Willamette built an 11-point lead. She made 7 of 8 shots
from the field, all four of her free throws and pulled down six
rebounds in 20 minutes. Rosie Contri (Sr., Douglas HS, Minden,
Nev.) added 12 points, four rebounds and four assists. Willamette
out-rebounded the Missionaries 47-38.
Feb. 15 Whitworth 68, at Willamette 58
First-place Whitworth went on a 15-0 run during a six-minute span
in the second half to take a commanding 53-39 lead with 7:48
remaining en route to an NWC victory over Willamette. The Bearcats
got 19 points and six assists from Rosie Contri (Sr., Douglas HS,
Minden, Nev.). Simmie Muth (Jr., North Bend HS) connected on 4 of 9
three-point shots on her way to a 14-point night.
NOTES: Individually, guard Rosie Contri (Sr., Douglas HS, Minden,
Nev.) ranks third in the NWC in assists (3.41 apg), third in
assist-to-turnover ratio (1.10:1), fourth in steals (2.18 spg) and
ninth in scoring (11.5 ppg). Forward Deanna Lund (Jr., Ridgefield
HS, Wash.) ranks ninth in field goal percentage (43.1%), ninth in
rebounding (6.2 rpg) and 15th in scoring (10.7 ppg). Guard Simmie
Muth (Jr., North Bend HS) is second in steals (3.00 spg), eighth in
assist-to-turnover ratio (0.93:1) and 14th in scoring (10-8
ppg).
