Bearcats split with Lewis & Clark
Willamette and Lewis & Clark split a Northwest Conference softball twinbill Sunday, with the Pioneers winning the opener 5-4 and the Bearcats taking the nightcap 7-6.
Willamette is now 9-10 overall and 7-4 in NWC action, while L&C moved to 7-18 and 4-11, respectively.
Anna Byers went 1 for 2 with three RBI in the first game and Kim Boscacci went 2 for 4 with two runs scored for WU in the opener.
In the nightcap, Boscacci went 1 for 2 with two RBI and Darcy Hertel hit a solo home run in the fifth inning. She now has four homers on the year, which is a single-season Bearcat record.
