Bearcats win three races in Cascade Sprints

LAKE STEVENS, Wash. — Willamette crews won three races Saturday during the Cascade Sprints.

The Bearcat Women's Second Varsity 8 won its race over seven other boats in a time of 6:40.20, edging out Puget Sound (6:42.63).

The Willamette Women's Pair (Jenny Lind Schaecher and Aubrey Merryman) defeated three other crews in a time of 8:28.4.

Willamette's Women's Lightweight 8 defeated Puget Sound 7:25.6 to 7:36.0.

Bearcat crews that finished second included the Men's Lightweight 4 (lost to Seattle Pacific by less than a second) and the Men's Varsity 4.

Willamette's crews will compete this Saturday and Sunday at the Western Intercollegiate Rowing Championships in Sacramento, Calif.
