Linfield takes pair from Willamette
SALEM — Linfield belted out 11 hits in each game Saturday to take a Northwest Conference doubleheader from host Willamette, 6-2 and 8-5, at Willamette Field.
The wins improved Linfield's records to 26-10 overall and 20-4 in the NWC, while Willamette fell to 17-14 and 15-8, respectively.
In the opener, the Wildcats' Shelly Stein went 3 for 4 with two RBI, while teammate Stephanie Morgan went 2 for 3 with two runs and an RBI.
Willamette's Marcie Hagen got two of the Bearcats' five hits, going 2 for 3 with an RBI.
In the nightcap, Morgan went 3 for 4 with a run and two RBI, and Amy Hammons and Jessica Galaway each went 2 for 4.
The Bearcats were led by Sherri Mabie, who went 3 for 4 with a run scored.
The two teams wind up Northwest Conference play Sunday with a noon doubleheader in Salem.
