Bearcat women rowers dominate NCAA awards
The Willamette women’s rowing team dominated the NCAA Division III postseason awards, which are presented annually by the Collegiate Rowing Coaches Association (CRCA).
The Bearcat women landed nine rowers on the 41-member Division III CRCA National Scholar-Athlete team (3.50 GPA or higher), the most of any school in the nation. Ithaca (N.Y.) College had five members on the team.
Willamette also had two NCAA Division III All-Americans: Jenny Lind Schaecher (Gr., Elk Grove, Calif.) made the first team and Aubrey Merryman (Sr., Los Angeles, Calif.) made the second team. Two years ago, Schaecher was one of 11 named to the NCAA Division II/III CRCA All-America first team.
