9/6/2003: Bearcats Leave Redlands Seeing Red with a Convincing Defeat in Their Season Opener, 35-15
Redlands, CA — The Bearcats triumphed in their season opener against the Redlands Bulldogs.
The first quarter saw both teams scoreless.
The second quarter was another story for the Bearcats. With running back Calvin Keyser-Allen rushing 27 yards to put the Bearcats on the board, Willamette gained control.
Greg Reed then went on to score one of his two touchdowns in the second quarter followed by Byron Holloway to bring the Bearcats to a 28-0 score before half time.
After the first half thumping of the Bulldogs the Bearcats sent in their second string to finish the job. They scored another touchdown 9 minutes into the third quarter.
In the fourth quarter the Bulldogs Quarter Back Brian Sapp was a man on a mission. He scored both touchdowns for the Bulldogs.
The Bulldog's bite left the Bearcats unscathed. The Bearcats finished with a 35-15 win.
The Bearcats face The University of Mary Hardin-Baylor Saturday, September 13, 2003 at McCulloch Field/Ogdahl Field.
