Bearcat Men Lose 2-1 in Second Overtime

Salem — Kevin Anderson scored with four minutes left in the second overtime to give the UC Santa Cruz Bananna Slugs a 2-1 win over the Willamette University men’s soccer team Sunday afternoon at Sparks Field.

After a scoreless first half, David Frank put the Slugs on top with a goal seven minutes into the second half. The Bearcats countered ten minutes later when Adam Moshofsky flicked in a shot off an assist from Brian Lund.

After a scoreless first overtime, the Bearcats scored the apparent game winning goal. But Ben DeSanno’s score was wiped out with an offsides call. The Slugs got the game-winner two minutes later.

For the season, the Bearcats are now 0-1-1.
