Football vs Chapman University Preview

Bearcat Football is home this weekend facing off with Chapman University from Orange, CA who are coming off the recent defeat of CMS, 17-14. Chapman is currently 1-3 on the season. They were defeated, just barely, by Redlands in their season opener, 17-16. There second matchup was Pacific Lutheran who destroyed them with a final score of 31-3. Cal Lutheran walked away with a win scoring 23 to their 13.

The Bearcat’s last meeting with Chapman saw Willamette stomp them with a 52-21 win.
This year’s meeting will hopefully lead to déjà vu.

The Bearcats are trying to rebound after a stunning defeat by Menlo last weekend. The 41-19 score was not aided by our 295 rushing yards, but was telling of the number of errors the Bearcats made.

Currently the Bearcats are 2-2 on the season and 0-0 in conference. Our first conference game is October 11 vs Whitworth.

The kickoff is at 3:00 pm (Note time change) at McCulloch Stadium.

Chapman is coached by Ken Visser who is in his 10th season after helping to bring football back to the University in 1994. Coach Visser’s overall record is 40-41-1.
