Softball Wins One and Loses One on First Day of NFCA Lead Off Classic

LaGrange, GA - Willamette defeated Western Connecticut State in their first game of the NFCA Leadoff Classic 8-0.

The Bearcats played St. Thomas in their second game today and were defeated 6-1.

Twenty-four of the nation's top Division III teams are competing at the 2004 NFCA Division III Leadoff Classic, March 12-14 at Shuford Fields in LaGrange, Georgia.

Format: There are six pools of four teams each, with the top team from each pool advancing to the Gold Championship. In addition, two other at-large teams will be selected. The remaining second place teams, in addition to four at-large teams, will be chosen for the Silver Championship. The remaining eight teams will be placed in the Bronze Championship.
