Cross Country Finishes Strong in Sundodger Classic
SEATTLE — Danya Rumore and Kari Holbert led the Willamette University women’s cross country team to a fourth place finish at the University of Washington’s Sundodger Classic Saturday.
The Bearcat men — led by Aaron Hollingshead’s 15th place finish helped the Bearcat men finish in sixth at the Invitational which drew top teams from across the country.
Rumore’s time of 21:28 in the 6K race was good for 6th place overall. Holbert finished in 22:13 for 25th place. Natalie Muren was 53rd, followed by Katie Pierce and Molly Phimister.
For the men, Hollingshead finished the 8K race in a time of 24:45. Brendan Brown (54th), Daniel Yeager (59th), Carlos Ruiz (66th), Ben Zeiger (69th), Julio Vierya (71st), Ben Leipzig (74th), Josh Butler (76th), Joe Kaczmarek (87th), Jamie Timbrell (90th) and Pete Lucas-Roberts (97th), all finished in the top 100 to help the Bearcats to the 6th place finish.
