BEARCAT WOMEN SCORE 3 IN SECOND HALF TO BEAT GEORGE FOX
SALEM, OR — Susan Butler had a goal and an assist and Rachel Clevenger had two assists as the Willamette University women’s soccer team scored three times in the second half to win a Northwest Conference match against George Fox University, 3-1, Saturday afternoon at Sparks Field.
Allie Tenold (pictured left) and Nicole Dahl also scored goals for the Bearcats.
Julie Alexander put George Fox on top at the 16-minute mark when she scored off an assist from Amber Stevens. The Bruins took a 1-0 lead into halftime.
Tenold tied the game in the 56th minute when she converted a Clevenger pass for her first goal of the season. Dahl scored the game-winner three minutes later off an assist from Butler.
Butler closed out the scoring in the 67th minute with Clevenger getting her second assist of the game.
Willamette out-shot George Fox 27-8. Bruin goalie Jessica Cardwell recorded 12 saves. Bearcat keeper Kari Woody had five saves.
The Bearcats take on Lewis and Clark Sunday afternoon. The game will be played at McCulloch Stadium beginning at 11 a.m.
