BEARCATS WIN SECOND STRAIGHT BEHIND CONRAD AND RODRIGUES

SALEM, OR — Freshmen Michael Rodrigues and Mark Conrad each score unassisted goals as the Willamette University men’s soccer team won its second straight Northwest Conference game with a 2-1 win over George Fox University Saturday afternoon at Sparks Field.

Rodrigues (pictured left) scored in the 12th minute to put the Bearcats up 1-0, a lead they would take into halftime.

Conrad’s goal in the 62nd minute gave the Bearcats a 2-0 lead.

Dan Potter got the Bruins to within one goal when he scored at the 82:24 mark. But the Bearcats held firm as they raised their season record to 4-12-2, 4-8 NWC. George Fox falls to 4-11-2 overall and 3-8-1 in the NWC.

The Bearcats play at home their final home game of the season next Friday against Pacific Lutheran University. The game will be played at McCulloch Stadium beginning at 1:30.
