Linfield Opens NWC With 3-0 Road Win Over Willamette
SALEM — Chris Paradis has a goal and an assist, and Tyler Oxley added two assists, as the Linfield Wildcats opened the Northwest Conference season with a 3-0 win over the Willamette University men’s soccer team.
Linfield (2-4 overall, 1-0 NWC) broke on top in the 10th minute when Colby Ayonon scored off a corner kick from Oxley. Paradis got the second goal in the 37th minute when he kneed a shot in off another cross from Oxley.
Keith Alger closed out the scoring with a goal eight minutes into the second half. Paradis and Paul Collins got credit for the assists.
For the game, Linfield out-shot the Bearcats 28-9. Dane Meier had 15 saves in goal for Willamette. Linfield goalie Grant Williams had three saves.
The Bearcats (0-3-2, 0-1 NWC) travel to the University of Puget Sound for another NWC game Saturday.
