Men's Soccer Falls To Linfield
McMINNVILLE, OR- Linfield forward Chris Paradis scored twice and Mike Grabast served up two assists as the Wildcats defeated Willamette 5-0 Thursday afternoon.
It was Linfield’s third consecutive shutout victory, raising their record to 6-6-1 overall and 5-2-1 in the NWC and dropping Willamette to 2-8-2, 2-5 in conference play.
Paradis got his first goal in the 11th minute, after teammate Josh Robinson’s shot deflected off the left post. Grabast set up Adam Howard for the 2nd goal of the half at 31:59.
Linfield continued with the momentum in the second half as Paul Collins converted a corner from Grabast for a goal at 47:32. Paradis got his second goal five minutes later (52:02).
Gregg Christiansen added one more for the Wildcats, with only 30 seconds left to play, following a cross from David Hamilton.
Goalies Reed Renfrow and Dane Meier from Willamette totaled 5 saves. Linfield goalies Grant Williams and Taylor Fowles each had 2.
Linfield outshot Willamette 21-8.
The Bearcats will host Puget Sound, Saturday, October 16 at 2:30pm.
