Undefeated Men's Golf Team Sweeps Through NWC's South Fourway Tournament

MCMINNVILLE OR — The undefeated Willamette University men’s golf team completed its sweep of the four-round Souther Division Fourway Tournament this week as Rio Kuteira fired a 1-under par 71 to lead the Bearcats.

Kuteira finished the tournament with a 1-over par 189 to take overall tournament medalist honors.

The Bearcats have one more fall tournament on Sunday and Monday at the Northwest Conference Men’s Fall Classic at Aspen Lakes Golf Course in Sisters.

Willamette is the defending champion at the fall classic, as well as the NWC conference champions the past two seasons.

The final team scores from the Fourway Tournament saw the Bearcats shoot a combined 1201, good for a 44-shot win over Pacific (1245). Linfield was third with a 1277. Lewis and Clark did not have enough players to compete in the team event.
