Women's Soccer Team Brings Home A Victory
MCMINNVILLE, OR- Willamette forward Michelle Gregoire scored an unassisted goal in the 54th minute, capping a come-from-behind 2-1 Northwest Conference victory over Linfield on Wednesday afternoon.
Willamette earned their fifth win in conference play, improving to 5-3-1 in the NWC, 7-4-2 overall. Linfield’s record fell to 2-7-0 in the NWC, 2-10-1 overall.
The Wildcats jumped out early as freshman Maura Williams scored her first collegiate goal in the 2nd minute.
The Bearcats answered back in the 43rd minute with a shot from Nicole Dahl. It was Dahl’s sixth goal in the Bearcat’s last four games.
The teams remained tied until Gregoire’s game-winning goal.
Willamette outshot the Wildcats 10-4. Kari Woody had 2 saves for the Bearcats, while Linfield’s Allison Cartmill tallied up 4.
The Bearcats host Puget Sound Saturday, October 16 at noon.
