Angie Sammons Named To 2004 All-West Region Volleyball Team
SALEM OR — Angie Sammons was named today to the 2004 All-West Region volleyball team selected by the American Volleyball Coaches Association. Kristen Halleck, an All West Region pick last season, earned honorable mention this year.
“It is a great credit to our program and the hard work of these two student-athletes that we have had two different players in two consecutive seasons named to the All-West Region team,” said Head Coach Tricia Wright. “We’re very proud of Angie and Kristen. They have been great representatives of our university.”
Sammons was the leader of a trio of power hitters who led the Bearcats to 19-6 overall record and a second place finish in the Northwest Conference. Sammons led the Northwest Conference in kills.
Halleck, who was recently named a CoSIDA Academic All-American averaged better than 4 kills and 4 digs per game.
