FISCHER WINS WOMEN'S PENTATHLON SWIM EVENT; OTAWA FINISHES 8TH IN MEN'S EVENT

MCMINNVILLE, OR — Becca Fischer posted the top score in the Northwest Conference Sprint Pentathlon, a grueling five-event meet where the swimmer’s times are added together to determine the champion.

Fischer placed first with a combined time of 2:59.54 in the five events including freestyle, backstroke, breaststroke, fly and individual medley.

Brittany Thiemens finished 22nd overall and Elise Tuttle finished 29th. There were over 140 swimmers in the women’s competition.

On the men’s side, Kei Otawa posted the Bearcats best score, finishing 8th overall with a time of 2:42.95.

Avery Robinson finished 21st and Owen Williams placed 27th.
