Halleck Named to the National Academic All-American Team
Kristen Halleck, a senior outside hitter from Salem, OR, was named to ESPN The Magazine 2004 Academic All-America College Division Volleyball First Team.
Halleck qualified for this honor after receiving a regional CoSIDA Academic All-America First Team honor earlier this month.
To earn the Academic All-America title, nominees must excel in both their sport and academics. For the 2004 season, Halleck was named to the NWC First Team and earned honorable mentions for the All-West Region Volleyball Team.
Academically, Halleck is pursuing a major in biology and currently maintains a GPA of 3.82.
CoSIDA (College Sports Information Directors of America) is a national organization of sports information directors. Division three universities are divided into eight regions of which CoSIDA members select a First and Second Team from each region. Only First Team selections qualify for the national round.
