Olinger's 25 Points Lead Bearcats to 69-56 Win Over Pioneers
PORTLAND, OR — John Olinger’s 25 points and a hot-shooting second half propelled the Willamette University Bearcats to a 69-56 win over Lewis & Clark Saturday night at the Pamplin Center as the Bearcats evened their Northwest Conference mark at 6-6.
After a dismal first half shooting performance, including 0-14 from three-point range, the Bearcats shot a blistering 57% in the second half to come back from a six-point halftime deficit.
Todd Lewis added 18 points and a game-high nine rebounds as the Bearcats took a huge rebounding edge, 41-28, over the Pioneers.
With the win, the Bearcats move to 9-12 on the season and 6-6 in the NWC with their second straight conference victory. The Pioneers slip to 10-9 overall, 6-5 in the NWC.
CJ Stuvland added 11 points for Willamette and added a game-high four assists.
The Pioneers were led by 20 points from Travis Jones and 12 points and five rebounds from Tommy Magnuson.
The Bearcats host Linfield on Tuesday night at 8 p.m.
