Dentzel, Boscacci Earn NWC Athlete of the Week Honors for Track and Softball

SALEM, OR — Junior Kim Boscacci and sophomore Sophia Dentzel both earned Northwest Conference Athlete of the Week honors for the this week.

Boscacci, a junior from Bothell WA, led the Bearcats’ softball team to a 4-0 record this past weekend, hitting .429 (6-14) with a double, a triple, four RBI and three runs scored. The Bearcats play doubleheaders at Pacific and George Fox as they look to hold on to the top spot in the NWC.

Dentzel (pictured left), a sophomore from Hood River, OR, won the javelin throw at the Willamette Opener this past weekend. Her toss of 135.1’ was good enough for an NCAA Championship provisional qualifying mark. Fifty-five Bearcat athletes qualified for the NWC championships in the first meet of the season.

Other Bearcats earning NWC honorable mention this past week included Travis May (track and field), Susan Butler (tennis) and Matt Johnson (baseball).
