Boxers Win Back-To-Back Women's Golf Titles

SISTERS, OR — The Pacific University women’s golf team captured its second straight Northwest Conference title Monday afternoon at the NWC Championships held at the Aspen Lakes Golf Course in Sisters.

The Boxers finished the two-day competition with a score of 702, seven strokes ahead of second place finishers Lewis & Clark, who finished with 709. Pacific led day one by seven strokes after a round of 354, then maintained their lead by tying the Pioneers with a second round tally of 348.

Leslie Wheeler of Linfield recorded the top score of the tournament with a 157. Puget Sound’s Emily Lau took second place with a final score of 159. Molly Lindbloom, of Pacific, shot a 162, good for third place.

Boxer Head Coach Richard Warren was named NWC Women’s Golf Coach of the Year for the second straight season.
