Dearing Leads Nation In Saves, Team Ranks Eighth In West Region
SALEM, OR- The NCAA Division III softball poll was released today, ranking the Willamette University softball team eighth in the West Region. The Bearcats have an overall record of 18-6 overall and 16-2 in the Northwest Conference.
Junior pitcher Brittany Dearing of Orangevale, CA, is currently the Division III National Leader, out of 30 ranked, in saves. Dearing has recorded 11 saves for the season.
Catcher Cari Schruth, a sophomore from Roseburg, OR, is ranked 18th and 22nd in the nation for stolen bases and walks. Schruth has totaled in 16 stolen bases out of 19 attempts and has walked 16 times.
The top eight teams in the West Region are as follows:

No.3 Cal-State East Bay
No.6 East Texas Baptist
No.7 Mary Hardin-Baylor
