Eaton's Second Place Finish Leads Bearcats to Fourth at PLU Invitational
SPANAWAY, Wash. — Puget Sound and Whitworth both shot 613 over 36 holes to tie for the team title at the PLU Invitational men's golf tournament, held Wednesday and Thursday at Lake Spanaway Golf Course.
Led by Dave Eaton’s second place finish, the Bearcats finished in fourth place with a team score of 613. Eaton shot 72 the first day and 73 the second to finish four shots behind medalist Matt Ristine of UPS.
Rio Kutiera shot a combined 151 to finish one shot out of fifth place. Paul Crissali finished with a 162 and Martin Kraal shot 164 for the Bearcats.
Puget Sound held a six stroke lead after the first day — 303 to 309 — over Willamette and Whitworth.
Joe Finley of Whitworth came in third with a 74-74--148. Chris Packard of Pacific Lutheran finished fourth with a 74-75--149, and PLU's Kurt Inouye placed fifth with a 77-73--150.
The Bearcats play Friday and Saturday in the NWC Spring Tournament in Tacoma. They play for the NWC championship on April 25-26 in Bridge, OR.
