Matlock and Larsen Leads Bearcats at Clackamas Meet
OREGON CITY, OR — Nate Matlock won the hammer throw and the shot put, and Zach Larson clear 6’8” to win the high jump, as the Willamette University track and field team posted another round of Northwest Conference qualifying marks at the Clackamas Community College meet Saturday afternoon.
Matlock had his best hammer series of the year, throwing 184’8” one his best attempt to easily win the competition. Matlock followed that win with a shot put heave of 50’2” to win that event as well.
Zach Larsen jumped nearly a foot higher than his nearest competitor, easily winning the high jump event.
The Bearcats are favored to win both the men and women championships at the Northwest Conference meet next weekend in McMinnville.
